Camping at Smith and Moorehouse

On June 26-28 the Dibbles, Raymonds, Misdoms, Shane, Gary and I headed up to Smith and Morehouse for some camping experiences. We had a great time but missed those that couldn't be there. It rained on us the first night, but after that the weather was beautiful. As per usual with our Lancaster get-to-gethers we always have plenty of food and fun eating it and of course we can't go camping without a game of Junkenpo. There was dog walking, hiking, Zac practicing his fire building skills and lots of visiting and just plain ole fun.

It's Your Day Today, Jonathon

Today is Jonathon's birthday. Can't believe that he is 27 years old. Where did the time go? He came to us weighing in at 8 lbs 14 oz. and was 20 inches long. He just happened to be born on Father's Day. What a great Father's Day gift he was. Jonathon has always been such a pleasant little guy, smiling and happy all the time. He was a little "tender heart" and was gentle and kind. He never asks for anything, in fact if I didn't pay attention to things he would end up with holes in his shoes and too small of clothhes because he would never tell me he needed new clothes. He still does that. He has always brought us such great happiness and joy. He has met his sweetheart, Ginger and together they have created their little darling Maddy, and she adores her daddy. Jonathon is so cute with her and takes good care of his little family. Jonathon we are so proud of you and love you lots. Hope you have a great birthday!!

Jonathon didn't like the style of his hair that Lorrie
created for him.

A Rainbow

Today there was a big rainstorm and after the storm Gary looked outside and there was this beautiful double rainbow. He snapped some pictures. Of course our camera just doesn't get the full effect, but it is still an awesome rainbow.

Grandparents Day

Today was Grandparents Day for the second graders at Evan's school and he invited me to go. It started at 10:30 and we all filled out papers about each other. It was a fun little activity and helped us learn a little more about each other. After that we went to the gym and watched a program that all the kids participated in. It was fun to watch these kids trying to get their legs and arms to move in rythm with the music. It was great. They all try so hard. After the program Evan and I went and sat out on the lawn and had a nice picnic lunch. I had to laugh at Evan because when I was getting ready to leave I kissed him goodbye. When I looked back he was wiping the kiss off. I told him "Evan, you know it won't wipe off". He said to me, "I'm just wiping them in." It was fun to go be with Evan for a couple of hours. I am just kicking myself because I forgot my camera, but I did get a couple of pictures with my phone. Thanks goodness for camera phones. I can't believe how fast he has grown and is growing. He is a pretty special guy. Thanks Evan for inviting me to your school.

Mom/Daughter Party

Lorrie had a Mother/Daughter party planned for Saturday evening where we all got together and had a fun time. Of course, if Lorrie plans it something, it is always going to be special and fun. She made "Cafe Rio" salads and then everyone brought something to go with it. Yummy food! After eating, Alex helped us all make bonnets out of tape and wrapping paper. They were really cute hats and such a cute idea. We played some games and then it was all over. It was a really fun evening and what a fun way to celebrate Mother's Day--to have all your girls together in one spot. Thanks Lorrie for getting us all together.

While I Was Away

The Saturday that I got home from Louisiana was the day before Mother's Day. Lorrie had planned a Mother/Daughter party that was supposed to be held at 4:00, but after Gary picked me up from the airport and on the way home, Lorrie called and told me it was going to be later--6:00 and so not to hurry to her house. Go home and relax for a minute. However, by the time we were nearing home it was almost 6:00 and so I told Gary to just take me up to Lorrie's house so I wouldn't be late. He told me that he needed to go home first and that I could just drive myself up to Lorrie's. I told him no, take me to Lorrie's and that I would ride home with Toni. He said no that he really needed to go home first. So we ended up going home. I took my luggage into the house and headed for the bedroom. I opened the bedroom door and wow did I get a shock of my life. My sweet husband and kids had done a Lancaster version of "While You Were Out". Gary and Shane had taken the week off and as soon as I left for the airport (Toni drove me and Andre with the girls) Gary started cleaning out our bedroom for the overhaul. I have to tell you that that was no small job. My bedroom has been a catchall over the years, especially one corner. Anyway, he pulled everything out of the room and everyone came to help paint and Scott came and tiled our bathroom. They painted the bathroom and the bedroom, and Ginger decorated the rooms--new curtains, new sheets, new pictures on the walls, new everything. Ginger is so talented with her decorating skills. They traded the furniture from our bedroom to another bedroom and it looks so awesome. I never thought about moving the furniture around like that. We had the piano in our bedroom and they moved that out and put it into the other room too. I just love, love, love the new rooms. It was the most bizarre thing to walk into this beautiful room. I didn't have a clue that this was even going on. Everyone was in the bedroom waiting for me to open the door and as soon as I did they all yelled "surprise". And was it ever a surprise. Everytime I go to bed I just feel like I am on vacation in a really nice place, because that is what it looks like. I want everyone to know that I have the best of the best family. Heavenly Father has blessed me so much with them and I am ever grateful for who they all are and all the good things that they are doing with their lives. Thank you, thank you, and thank you everyone for the great surprise. It was awesome!!!!

I know the pictures just doesn't do the rooms justice, but they are
so nice!
